Miami's ETBD department hosted an interactive pirate walkthrough exhibit in November 2024. I designed, programmed, soldered, and constructed one of the modules for this exhibit: Musical Shells.
Musical Shells is an auditory puzzle that runs on an Arduino with magnetic field sensors, tone buzzers, and LED components. The player is presented with a melody that they must recreate by tapping on the four shells presented to them. Each shell has a specific note that it plays back once activated. When the entire song has been successfully replayed in the correct order, the player wins and they are allowed to move on to the next portion of the exhibit!
Here are two videos. The first shows the entire completed puzzle and the second shows some examples of the user failing and the puzzle resetting.
Lastly, here is a design document for this project: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YxjzDEhof93kKky_15gd6BLB0MlILq8o0pwofNxsvqw/edit?usp=sharing
